Rolfing® workshops on manipulation and movement will be held in Tokyo on October and November 2023.
The instructor is Pierpaola Volpones (Paola). She is a member of the International Rolfing® Faculty and teaches Basic, Rolf Movement™, Advanced Training Instructor, and Continuing Education classes.
What makes her classes appealing is the simplicity and balance of both theory and practice. This will be Paola’s first workshop in Japan, where she is well known for her popularity and ability as a stable instructor.
Both of these WS will be interpreted in Japanese.
The Spine: Physiology, biomechanics of the joints, treatments.
The spine is a complex organization in which various systems converge: myofascial, neural, articular and visceral. All these systems influence each other from a structural and functional point of view.
Since the spine is our axis, it connects the upper and lower poles of the body, represents our center, protects the spinal cord along its path from the skull to the periphery.
There may be lesions and restrictions in the physical structure of the spine that will prevent, alter, limit its ability to function to the best of its abilities.
During this 4-day workshop, rolfers will review the anatomical features of the spine and adjacent structures, such as ribs and iliac bones; rolfers will also be guided in improving their manual skills to find how to normalize vertebral motion in all sectors of the spine: from the sacro-coccygeal space to the occipital-atlanto region, moving through the sacrum, lumbar, thoracic and cervical tracts.
The class will include lectures, demonstrations and practical application between students.
This workshop will release 4 IRC credits (manipulation) valid to enter the Advanced Rolfing training.

The spine-girdles-limbs relationship.
This 3-day workshop is intended to offer a space to explore the functional relationships between the spine, as a center, and the limbs, as the periphery through the girdles.
It will be an opportunity to retrace the themes of sessions 8, 9 and 10 in which we seek balance between the girdles, through the reorganization of the spine in session 8, proceeding toward relating center and periphery along the spine with session 9 and finally closing the series finding a clearer direction toward the ground for support and the space for orienting.
The class will include lectures, embodiment explorations, demonstrations and practical application between students.
This workshop will release 3 Rolf Movement Credits valid to enter the Advanced Rolfing Training.
